KUCHING (Feb 23): The Associated Chinese Chambers of Commerce and Industry of Sarawak (ACCCIS) will be organising a Chinese New Year celebration cum 50th anniversary of Malaysia-China diplomatic relations gala dinner on Feb 29.
The event, which will be held at Imperial Hotel here at 6pm, will be officiated by Premier Datuk Patinggi Tan Sri Abang Johari Tun Openg, according to a statement.
The Chinese New Year dinner is an annual gathering that brings together ACCCIS council and committee members, which comprises its 22 chamber members spread across 12 divisions of the state.
The 22 chamber members include Kuching, Simanggang, Sibu, Miri, Sarikei, Bintulu, Limbang, Bau, Serian, Saratok, Bintangor, Kapit, Daro, Mukah, Batu Niah, Song, Sibuti, Baram, Lawas, Betong, Sebuyau and Kanowit.
This year, to mark this significant occasion, ACCCIS is celebrating both the Lunar New Year and the 50th anniversary of Malaysia-China diplomatic relations.
The dinner will also be graced by the presence of members of the Sarawak Cabinet, Consul-Generals from various consulates, dignitaries from government departments and agencies, counterparts from China, sponsors, trade associations and commercial banks.
