Elvis Didit
KAPIT (Jan 4): Elvis Didit, who has just begun his duties as the new Kapit Resident, receives words of encouragement from the MP, Dato Sri Alexander Nanta Linggi.
Elvis replaces Galong Luang, who is now Miri Resident.
In his message to Elvis, Nanta expressed confidence that the former’s extensive experience of over 30 years in the state civil service would help him develop Kapit Division, especially in ensuring the successful implementation of projects under the 12th Malaysia Plan (2021-2025) here.
“I hope that all parties in Kapit, including the community leaders and the local NGOs (non-governmental organisations) would provide him with good cooperation, in his efforts to prioritise the needs of the people in Kapit Division,” said Nanta, the federal Works Minister and also chairman of the Upper Rajang Development Agency’s (Urda) board of director.
Hailing from Sri Aman, Elvis previously served as the principal assistant secretary (corporate management division) of the Sarawak Transport Ministry.
Adding on, Nanta conveyed his appreciation to Galong for his contributions throughout his three-year service as Kapit Resident.
“I also hope that both Elvis and Galong would continue to excel in their respective duties, in helping to expedite the development in their respective areas, and also Sarawak in general.”
Elvis also received congratulatory remarks from Deputy Minister in Sarawak Premier’s Department (Native Customs and Laws) Datuk Jefferson Jamit Unyat and Katibas assemblyman Lidam Assan.
“I am looking forward to working with our new Kapit Resident towards developing the socio-economy of the people in this division and helping to enhance their livelihood,” said Jamit, the assemblyman for Bukit Goram.
In his message, Lidam hoped Elvis would help in the development programmes for the constituency of Katibas in Song.
“The people have high expectations for both physical infrastructures and social-economic development,” added Lidam.
