MIRI (Jan 6): Teachers play a critical role in driving Malaysia’s development, and their dedication to educating the nation’s future leaders must be appreciated.
In stating this, SJKC Chung Hua Pujut board of directors chairman Penghulu Chai Kuen Ming said recognising the contributions made by teachers can significantly increase their motivation and reaffirm the value of their work.
“A nation thrives through education, and education thrives through teachers. For a nation to be strong and progressive, education is the key factor.
“Teachers are the core driving role behind the advancement of education. Therefore, it is only right that teachers are given the appropriate gratitude for their effort and hard work,” he said in his speech when officiating at the school’s Teacher’s Appreciation Dinner here on Sunday.
Moreover, he pointed out that the challenges teachers face in today’s world are increasing, and that society should not exert more pressure on them but instead, support them.
Teachers, he said, need to continuously improve themselves as they set an example for students to embrace the attitude of lifelong learning.
“Teaching takes a lot of physical and mental strength. Thus, showing appreciation to teachers is essential in acknowledging their dedication and sacrifices.
“By appreciating their efforts, we not only boost their morale but also foster a culture of respect and recognition for the teaching profession,” added Chai.
