KUCHING (May 12): Reappointed Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) chief commissioner Tan Sri Datuk Seri Azam Baki has pledged to combat all forms of corruption, malpractice, and abuse of power.
“Fully aware of the responsibility and trust given, I will continue to lead MACC in combating all forms of corruption, malpractice and abuse of power in order to create a prosperous, just and peaceful country,” he said in a statement today.
Azam extended his gratitude to Yang di-Pertuan Agong Sultan Ibrahim for endorsing his reappointment for a period of one year.
The term is effective from tomorrow (May 13) to May 12, 2026.
“This endorsement is indeed a great honour for me and all MACC staff. I’d also like to express gratitude to Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim for his continued trust and support,” Azam said.
He said MACC would remain committed to improving the country’s Corruption Perception Index (CPI) score so that Malaysia continues to be respected and trusted internationally.
“May the King and the Prime Minister be blessed with wisdom to lead the country towards a glorious future,” he added.
