KUCHING (June 17): The Malaysian Meteorological Department (MetMalaysia) has issued a thunderstorm and heavy rain warning for several divisions across Sarawak, effective until 9pm today.

In a statement, the department said areas expected to be affected include Kuching, Serian, Samarahan, Sri Aman, Betong, Sarikei, Sibu, Mukah, Kapit (Song and Kapit), Bintulu, Miri and Limbang.

The same warning has also been extended to multiple locations in Peninsular Malaysia and Sabah, including Langkawi, Gua Musang, Hulu Terengganu, Cameron Highlands, Port Dickson, Johor Bahru, as well as the interior and west coast of Sabah and Labuan.
