PAPAR (Aug 24): In conjunction with the National Day and Malaysia Day 2025 celebrations, the Ministry of Domestic Trade and Cost of Living (KPDN) has launched the Jalur Gemilang Campaign in partnership with Petronas, involving 4,320 petrol stations nationwide.
Minister of Domestic Trade and Cost of Living, Datuk Armizan Mohd Ali, said the campaign forms part of the One Home, One Jalur Gemilang (1R1JG) initiative coordinated by the Department of Information Malaysia (JAPEN), covering seven key clusters — industry, education, higher education, health, security, community, and government agencies.
“This campaign will involve all petrol retail premises, not only Petronas stations but all licensed retail outlets regulated by KPDN, totalling 4,320 nationwide,” said Armizan during the flag handover ceremony at Petronas Papar station on Sunday.
“KPDN is playing its role in driving this national agenda coordinated by JAPEN under the Ministry of Communications. It is about rallying industry players and the wider community to embrace the spirit of Merdeka,” he added.
At the same event, Armizan also launched Petronas’ Love Local Campaign, which runs from August 25 to September 30, in support of the Buy Malaysian Products Campaign (KBBM) spearheaded by KPDN.
“This initiative reflects Petronas’ commitment to supporting KBBM, which aims to prioritise and empower local entrepreneurs, especially micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs). Through this campaign, local products will be given greater visibility and preference,” he said.
During the campaign, local MSME products will be displayed on specially designated shelves at Kedai Mesra Petronas outlets, marked with the KBBM logo as part of a promotion strategy to increase consumer access.
Armizan also commended Petronas for its strong commitment in advancing local MSMEs through Kedai Mesra outlets.
“KPDN greatly appreciates Petronas’ efforts in supporting the Buy Malaysian Products Campaign, driven by patriotism and the goal of uplifting local entrepreneurs. With more than 850 Kedai Mesra outlets nationwide, including 50 in Sabah, Petronas is providing real opportunities for MSMEs,” he said.
To date, Kedai Mesra has partnered with 1,842 local product suppliers, with MSME product sales exceeding RM150 million and showing consistent growth year by year.
Also present at the event were KPDN Secretary-General Datuk Mohd Sayuthi Bakar, Enforcement Director-General Datuk Azman Adam, Senior Director (Management) of JAPEN Naim Fahmi Ahmad Tajuddin, Head of Retail Fuel Division of Petronas Dagangan Berhad Norazlan Subaha, and Petronas Papar Station partner Yongle @ Samblih Nip Chong.
