KUALA LUMPUR – Beregu lelaki muda negara, Aaron Tai-Kang Khai Xing meraih gelaran sulung musim ini selepas muncul juara pada Kejohanan Badminton Malaysia Super 100.

Pada perlawanan akhir yang berlangsung di Kompleks Sukan EduCity, Iskandar Puteri, Johor sebentar tadi, mereka berjaya membenam cabaran rakan senegara, Chia Wei Jie-Lwi Sheng Hao.

Walaupun bermula agak perlahan di set pertama, namun gandingan No.63 dunia itu berjaya memperkemaskan permainan sebelum menang 21-18, 21-7 dalam tempoh 28 minit.

Selepas bangkit memenangi set pertama, Aaron-Khai Xing seolah-olah mendapat semangat baharu apabila mendominasi sepenuhnya set kedua.

Sebagai rekod, ini adalah pencapaian terbaik buat anak buah Herry Iman Pierngadi itu selepas sering terkandas di pusingan awal pada kejohanan-kejohanan terdahulu.

Selaku juara, Aaron-Khai Xing menggondol hadiah wang tunai AS$9,480 (RM40,076) manakala Wei Jie-Sheng Hao membawa pulang AS$4,560 (RM19,277).

Selepas ini, Aaron-Khai Xing dijadualkan menyertai kejohanan Indonesia Masters II yang akan berlangsung di Medan bermula 21 hingga 26 Oktober ini. – KOSMO! ONLINE
