KUCHING (Nov 14): Bank Islam Malaysia Berhad (BIMB) has contributed RM915,000 in business ‘zakat’ (tithe) for the 2024 financial year, to Tabung Baitulmal Sarawak (TBS).
The presentation was witnessed by Premier Datuk Patinggi Tan Sri Abang Johari Tun Openg at Kompleks Satria Pertiwi today.
BIMB group chief executive officer Datuk Mohd Muazzam Mohamed handed over the mock cheque for the zakat to TBS general manager Datu Abang Mohammad Shibli Abang Mohd Nailie.
In its report, the Information Department (JaPen) Sarawak said the contribution reflected the bank’s ongoing commitment as an Islamic financial institution in supporting the socio-economic development of the Muslim community in Sarawak.
Also present were BIMB group chief social finance officer Mohd Nazri Chik, its chief business officer Sharifah Sarah Syed Mohamad Tahir, BIMB East Malaysia regional director Kameri Edi and BIMB Sarawak director Ahmad Herni Benjamin, as well as TBS head of operations Mohd Yusree Mohd Zain.
