MRT Putrajaya Line disrupted after power cables stolen near Damansara Damai. Alternative trains activated.
PETALING JAYA: Rapid Rail Sdn Bhd has confirmed that MRT Putrajaya Line services are experiencing a power supply disruption between Sungai Buloh Station and Damansara Damai Station following a cable theft incident.
In an official statement, Rapid Rail said its engineering team’s initial investigation confirmed that power supply cables had been cut and stolen near Damansara Damai Station.
“This incident has caused a serious service disruption and requires large-scale repair works, which are expected to continue until the end of operations today,” the company said.
To keep commuters moving, Rapid Rail has activated alternative train arrangements. Trains from Putrajaya Sentral Station will now turn back at Metro Prima Station, with a six-minute frequency.
A shuttle service is also operating between Metro Prima Station and Damansara Damai Station every eight minutes, while trains from Kwasa Damansara Station will terminate at Damansara Damai Station, also at eight-minute intervals.
Rapid Rail warned that passengers should expect longer waiting times on the platform, particularly between Metro Prima Station and Damansara Damai Station.
To maintain safety and crowd flow, auxiliary police personnel and station staff have been deployed at platforms and concourse areas. Regular train schedule announcements are also being broadcast at affected stations. Passengers are advised to consider alternative transport options to reach their destinations.
