SIBU (May 14): Outstanding teachers are not only transmitters of knowledge, but also act as emotional companions in today’s era of rapid advancements in artificial intelligence (AI), said SJKC Nang Kiang headmaster Ling Kui Leong.
He said the irreplaceable professional ethics and educational passion of teachers are the embodiment of the spirit of outstanding teachers.
“If the nation is an organism, then education is its blood, and teachers are the heartbeat that propels the blood.
“Every dedicated lesson you teach in the classroom determines the rhythm and vitality of Malaysia’s future,” he said during the school’s Teacher Day celebration yesterday.
Looking ahead to 2026, Ling encouraged teachers to continue embracing excellence by adapting to digital teaching tools and innovative learning methods to make lessons more engaging and effective.
He also stressed the importance of character-building among students, including respect for multiculturalism and patriotism alongside academic achievements.
Therefore, he hopes that all teachers will continue to uphold the spirit of ‘Bitara’ (excellence), bravely embrace new opportunities, and actively master digital teaching tools to make teaching more engaging and efficient.
“At the same time, we must cultivate character, fostering respect for multiculturalism and patriotism in students while imparting skills.
“Regarding the collaborative efforts of the board of directors, we look forward to their continued guidance and support, so that we can work together to propel the school to new heights.
“Everyone sees the hard work of the teachers; your achievements are etched in the hearts of the students.
“We hope that amidst your busy schedules, you will take good care of your health, for you are the pillars of your families and the treasures of the school,” he said.
Meanwhile, SJKC Nang Kiang board of management chairman Albert Lau praised the dedication and sacrifices of teachers, describing teaching as an ordinary yet noble profession.
He said teachers at the school devote themselves wholeheartedly to nurturing students, often spending long hours guiding children both academically and personally.
He added that the board of directors would continue supporting the school’s development by improving facilities, enhancing teachers’ welfare, and creating a better learning environment for students and educators alike.
