KOTA KINABALU (Dec 3): Cyberjaya College Kota Kinabalu held its 12th Convocation Ceremony for 277 graduates at the Sabah International Convention Centre here on Tuesday.
This significant occasion underscores the College’s dedication to supporting the Sabah Maju Jaya (SMJ) Development Plan through the development of human capital, the promotion of lifelong learning, and the enhancement of community well-being.
The convocation marked a milestone for the graduates, whose accomplishments reflect the College’s commitment to fostering a competent and knowledgeable workforce. By equipping students with essential skills and knowledge, Cyberjaya College Kota Kinabalu continues to play a pivotal role in contributing to Sabah’s overall socio-economic progress.
Vice-Chancellor of the University of Cyberjaya, Professor Dr David Whitford who conferred the graduates, remarked, “Graduates, carry forward the spirit of curiosity, resilience and integrity. Remember, success is not just about personal achievements but the positive difference you make in the world.”
Chief Executive of Cyberjaya College Kota Kinabalu, Dr Awang Faisal Assyiffa Ag Rahim, emphasised the College’s contributions to the state’s development initiatives.
“The skilled graduates produced by Cyberjaya College Kota Kinabalu are a testament to our commitment to education and community well-being. I trust that they will continue to contribute significantly, particularly in healthcare and related fields.
“Today, we conferred Diplomas in Pharmacy, Physiotherapy, Healthcare, Psychology, Business Studies and Nursing, highlighting our dedication to meeting Sabah’s needs,” she said.
The Chairman’s Award Class of 2024 was presented to Emily Yapp Sian Fui, a Diploma in Psychology graduate who excelled both academically and as a leader. Recognised for her Best Academic Achievement, Emily also served as the President of the Junior Psychologist Club, Vice President of the Artisans Club, and Secretary 1 of the Student Representative Council.
In her inspiring valedictory speech, she reflected on the graduates’ collective journey.
“Through the highs and lows, we have learned, grown and persevered to reach this momentous occasion. As we stand at the threshold of a new chapter, we embrace the opportunity to shape the future, pursue our passions, and leave behind a meaningful legacy,” she said.
