KUCHING (Sept 9): The inaugural Kuching Hardware Exhibition and Forum 2025 will take place from Oct 3 to 5, from 9am to 9pm daily, at the Boulevard Shopping Mall here, featuring 70 booths from Sarawak, Peninsular Malaysia, China and Indonesia.
Jointly organised by the Kuching and Samarahan Division Hardware and Machinery Merchants Association with support from the Sarawak Convention Bureau, the event aims to provide a platform for networking, market updates, and showcasing technological innovations in the hardware and building materials industry.
Exhibition organising chairperson Lee Lee San said it marks the first time Kuching will host such a large-scale hardware exhibition.
“The scale is unprecedented, bringing together exhibitors from both local and international markets. The exhibition covers hardware, machinery, building materials and electrical products,” she said during a press conference here today.
She added that the programme will also feature a hardware industry forum where experts, academics and industry leaders will discuss future development directions, including green building materials and machinery automation.
“Visitors can expect new product launches, demonstrations and experiential showcases that bring the latest hardware innovations to both industry players and consumers,” she said.
The official opening ceremony is scheduled for Oct 4 at 11am, followed by a welcome dinner at 6.30pm.
On Oct 5 at 1pm, the hardware industry forum will be held at Imperial Hotel’s fifth-floor function room.
Featured speakers include Federation of Malaysia Hardware, Machinery & Building Materials Dealers’ Association president Datuk Wira Darren Chan, as well as representatives from Universiti Malaysia Sarawak (Unimas), Bluescope Malaysia Sdn Bhd, and Mapei Malaysia Sdn Bhd.
Discussions will focus on industry trends such as green building materials and machinery automation.
The association will also celebrate its 60th anniversary with a dinner on Oct 5 at 6.30pm at Imperial Hotel.
Themed ‘Together for Six Decades, Towards a New Journey’, the dinner is expected to host around 100 tables and will be graced by Sarawak Deputy Premier Datuk Amar Dr Sim Kui Hian as guest of honour.
Lee expressed confidence that the event would not only serve as an annual highlight for the hardware industry but also mark a major milestone for the association, symbolising its continued growth and legacy.
Also present at the press conference were exhibition coordinator and booth contact person Lau Yong Siang, along with association members Chiew Ching Kwong, Adrian Lau, Two Kwang Hock, and Vincent Wong.
