MIRI (Oct 5): The inaugural Mrs Elegance International World 2025 pageant held here on Saturday night saw Grace Zhang Kai Hong from China crowned as its winner.
Rosalind Rakin from Malaysia emerged as first runner-up, while Mandy Zhong Ming Jie from China was named as second runner-up.
A total of 12 contestants from Malaysia, China, and the Philippines competed in the grand finale held at Eastwood Valley Golf and Country Club here.
Transport Minister Dato Sri Lee Kim Shin, who officiated the event, said the pageant was a platform that celebrated empowerment, inclusivity, and global unity through the elegance and confidence of women from around the world.
“This is the first time Mrs Elegance International World is being held in Miri city, and it is a great honour for us. Its presence here reaffirms Miri’s status as a city that embraces diversity, creativity, and global friendship.
“Such events bring significant benefits to the local economy, particularly in the tourism, hospitality, and creative sectors. With participants and visitors arriving from various parts of the world, this pageant helps promote our city and Sarawak’s charm—from our natural beauty and cultural heritage to our warm hospitality,” he said.
He noted the pageant reflected Sarawak’s broader development goals, where economic progress goes hand-in-hand with social and cultural inclusivity.
“By supporting platforms like Mrs Elegance, we show the world that Sarawak is a place where women’s aspirations are recognised, nurtured, and celebrated,” he said.
At the event, Zhang, who is also an entrepreneur, made a donation to the Malaysia Red Crescent’s kidney dialysis centre.
Another contribution to the centre was made by Ginsengworld Biotech Berhad, presented by its distribution manager Danny Yap.
Also present was the pageant’s organising chairwoman Sabrina Chang.
