KUCHING (June 7): Two local chapters of Junior Chamber International (JCI) paid a courtesy call on Kuching District police chief ACP Alexson Naga Chabu recently.
In a joint statement, JCI Padawan and JCI Batu Kawa said the visit was meant to strengthen the collaboration between the organisation and the Royal Malaysia Police (PDRM).
Leading the delegation was JCI Malaysia’s past national executive vice-president, Johnny Bong, who had headed JCI Padawan in 2020.
The visiting group also included the present presidents of JCI Padawan and JCI Batu Kawa, Gary Ong and Justine Yong, respectively.
“The meeting provided an opportunity to introduce the leadership of both JCI chapters and discuss community issues, including crime prevention, online scams, and drug abuse.
“Both parties exchanged views on how community organisations and law enforcement agencies could work together towards enhancing public awareness and community well-being.
“We truly appreciate the warm reception from and the meaningful discussions with ACP Alexson and the officers from the Kuching District police headquarters.
“We look forward to future collaborations that can contribute to a safer and more resilient community,” said both chapters in the statement.
