PETALING JAYA – Tentera Udara Diraja Malaysia (TUDM) telah mengaturgerak dua buah pesawat pejuang iaitu sebuah pesawat F/A-18 D Hornet dan Su-30 MKM (Sukhoi) sebagai pesawat pengiring kepada Pesawat Peribadi Sultan Johor, Boeing 737- 82Z (BBJ2).

Pesawat tersebut membawa Seri Paduka Baginda Yang di-Pertuan Agong Sultan Ibrahim bagi menghadiri Istiadat Melafaz dan Menandatangani Surat Sumpah Jawatan Seri Paduka Baginda Yang di-Pertuan Agong ke-17 di Balairung Seri, Istana Negara, pagi tadi.

Menurut sebuah kenyataan, pesawat F/A-18 D Hornet diterbangkan oleh Juruterbang, Mejar Mohammad Afendie Mohamad Idir bersama Juru Sensor Senjata, Kapten Ahmad Nazhan Ahmad Nazrin.

Bagi pesawat Sukhoi pula, diterbangkan oleh Juruterbang Mejar Fairul Mohd Rustham bersama Juru Sensor Senjata, Mejar Noor Azuan Abdullah Halim.

Kedua-dua pesawat tersebut yang mengiringi pesawat yang membawa Sultan Ibrahim selamat mendarat di Pangkalan Udara Subang pada pukul 9.41 pagi.

Menurut TUDM, pesawat pengiring atau ‘escort flight’ tersebut disediakan sebagai satu penghormatan kepada Seri Paduka Baginda selaku Pemerintah Tertinggi Angkatan Tentera Malaysia. – KOSMO! ONLINE
