MIRI (March 3): A ‘Jelajah Ramadan Bersepadu’ convoy—a collaboration between Petron Malaysia and Radio Televisyen Malaysia (RTM)—was flagged off today at RTM Miri’s compound, with participants headed to Kampung Pejuang Kelulit in Bekenu.
Carrying the slogan ‘Share the Blessings, Spread the Joy’, the convoy began on Feb 28 at Petron Ulam North in Sabah, and will make its final stop in Melaka on March 20.
Now in its second edition, the programme reached nearly 20,000 beneficiaries across 13 states last year, with Petron this year aiming to extend assistance to even more communities nationwide.
Prior to the flag-off, Sarawak Broadcasting director Wan Azhan Wan Hamat joined convoy participants and strategic partners in making a stop at the Malaysian Fisheries Development Authority (LKIM) Region III Miri Complex for the distribution of aid by Petron Malaysia to those affected by the January floods.
The ceremony saw Petron Malaysia distribute 106 aid packages, of which 61 were for fishermen and rest for the local community.
It was informed that a total of 350 packages—each with household essentials worth RM200—have been distributed across Sarawak under this programme, covering Bintulu, Sibu and Miri.
Wan Azhan was joined by Petron Malaysia senior commercial business advisor Anthony P. Juin in officiating the programme.
