KUCHING (Dec 1): Sarawak has made it into the Malaysia Book of Records (MBOR) for the most participants in bead craft making.
Over 274 bead craft enthusiasts, comprised of locals, foreigners and members of the Sarawak Craft Council, gathered at The Spring Shopping Mall for the record-breaking feat.
MBOR representative Siti Hajar Johor officially recognised the achievement after the participants crafted for 15 mins.
Also present to witness the achievement were Deputy Minister of Tourism, Creative Industry and Performing Arts Datuk Snowdan Lawan and SCC manager Suriya Charles Buas.
Snowdan expressed his gratitude to all participants, volunteers and sponsors for their contributions towards the achievement.
“I encourage everyone to continue innovating and passing on their skills to ensure the legacy of bead crafting thrives.
“Sarawak remains committed to preserving its unique Bornean cultural heritage and fostering global recognition,” he said in his speech prior to the start of the event.
