KUCHING (Feb 21): The Sarawak Transformation and Innovation Unit (STIU) has been recognised with a Special Award for its pivotal role in fostering innovation and bridging the technology gap between East and West Malaysia.
The award was presented to STIU Director Superi Awang Said during the Malaysia Technology Expo (MTE) 2025 at the World Trade Centre Kuala Lumpur today.
According to a statement, STIU facilitated the participation of 11 agencies as part of the MTE, showcasing 21 innovation projects that highlight Sarawak’s commitment to advancing innovation across multiple sectors.
“These projects reflect the state’s dedication to enhancing service delivery through creative problem-solving and technological advancements,” it said.
STIU has been instrumental in leading the Innovative and Creative Circle (ICC) initiative in Sarawak, equipping civil servants with structured problem-solving methodologies to foster continuous improvement within the Sarawak Civil Service (SCS).
Beyond ICC, STIU actively supports SCS agencies in participating in national and international conventions on quality and innovation.
“By facilitating their involvement in prestigious platforms like MTE and international quality conventions, STIU enables Sarawak’s agencies to benchmark against global best practices, promoting knowledge-sharing and strengthening professional networks,” it said.
The recognition at MTE 2025 underscores STIU’s steadfast commitment to cultivating a progressive and innovative public sector.
