Puma is hailed as the first household pet cat in FFF history to win double national winning titles for two consecutive years.
KUCHING (May 30): Sarawakian cat breeder Annie Chin brought home honours from the 2025 Feline Fanciers Federation (FFF) Annual Awards Dinner held in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam recently.
Dressed in traditional Dayak Kenyah attire, the Mirian showcased Borneo’s indigenous culture at that global stage, which celebrated winners from the 2025 competition themed ‘Born This Way’.
Her cat HNWs Puma Chin was recognised as the first household pet cat in FFF history to win double national winning titles for two consecutive years: as the ‘Household Pet International Regional Winner’ (HIRW) last year and this year, on top of the ‘2025 Household Pet of the Year’ crown.
“Puma is also the Best East Malaysia RW (Regional Winner) and Best National Winner – all proving that Sarawak cats can dominate on the international stage,” said Chin in a statement.

Her other cat, Apek Charlie Chaplin Chin, also recorded outstanding performance, placing 12th at national level, and 10th at regional level.
This year’s FFF competition involved participants from nine countries and regions: Sarawak, Peninsular Malaysia, Brunei, China, Taiwan, Hong Kong, India, Indonesia, Thailand and Vietnam.
“My son Nicholas was with me to witness this moment. We want the world to know Sarawak and Miri, and we hope more people will visit Miri to experience the warmth of Borneo,” Chin enthused.
She also said the Sarawak contingent recorded excellent performance at the competition, with participants from Miri, Bintulu, Sibu, Sarikei and Kuching also winning awards.
