The four SJIS students beam with pride as they hold their awards following their success in the Cambridge AS-Level, A-Level and IGCSE examinations.
KUCHING (May 24): Four students from St Joseph’s International School (SJIS) have brought international recognition to the school after receiving Outstanding Cambridge Learner Awards in the November 2025 Cambridge AS-Level, A-Level and IGCSE examinations.
The awards, presented by Cambridge International Education, recognise students who attain the highest marks globally or within their respective countries.
Leading the achievements was Eunice Ooi Jia Yi, who was named Top in the World for Business Studies A-Level, while Jameela Khayrin Mohamad Bolhair earned Top in Malaysia for Business Studies AS-Level.
Meanwhile, Carmen Lee Zi Shuen and Giselle Chen Yan Xin both achieved Top in the World for English as a Second Language (Speaking Endorsement) IGCSE.
The awards were presented during a ceremony held here on Saturday.
Principal Br Robert Teoh described the accomplishment as exceptional, stressing that it was rare for the school to secure three Top in the World awards in a single examination series.
“This is quite exceptional for the school to achieve three Top in the World awards in one examination series,” he said in a statement.
He also congratulated the students and teachers for their perseverance, discipline and passion for learning.
“Your remarkable global achievements continue to inspire the entire school community and uphold the proud tradition of excellence at St. Joseph’s International School,” he added.
Chief executive officer Christopher Chua said the recognition placed the students among the best internationally.
“To be recognised as Top in Malaysia and Top in the World by Cambridge International is an extraordinary accomplishment that places our students among the very best internationally,” he said.
He added that the achievements reflected not only the students’ hard work and dedication, but also the commitment of teachers and support from families.
The school is currently accepting applications for its 2027 intake for Year 7 and Pre-University programmes.
