KUCHING (Sept 7): A Madani Combo Sale organised by the Democratic Action Party (DAP) Stampin Parliamentary Service Centre drew an overwhelming response from residents of the Stampin Resettlement Scheme today.
According to Stampin MP Chong Chieng Jen’s special assistant, Michael Kong, all 300 food packages were taken up within just 20 minutes of the programme’s launch.
“We successfully organised the Madani Combo Sale at Lorong 2, Stampin Resettlement Scheme. By 8.30am, there was already a long queue forming, and within 20 minutes after we kicked off at 9.30am, all 300 sets were gone,” Kong said.

He added that the overwhelming turnout reflected the high level of appreciation from the community, despite attempts by certain quarters to discredit the initiative.
Kong, who also serves as DAP Sarawak assistant publicity secretary, stressed that the initiative was part of ongoing efforts to ease financial pressures faced by many families amid the rising cost of living.
“We will continue to roll out more people-friendly programmes like this to ease the burden on the rakyat and ensure that assistance reaches those who need it most,” he said.
He also noted on the federal government’s Rahmah Basic Aid (Sara) programme which provides RM100 in aid to eligible Malaysians for the purchase of essential goods.
