Ketua Polis Daerah Jasin DSP Ahmad Jamil Radzi berkata bahan letupan jenis Unexploded Ordnance (UXO) itu ditemukan seorang tukang kebun kira-kira 9 pagi tadi.

“UXO berkenaan ditemukan tukang kebun itu ketika mengemas rumah seorang anggota Angkatan Pertahanan Awam Malaysia (APM) Jasin. Selepas dimaklumkan isterinya, anggota APM itu yang sedang bertugas balik ke rumah untuk membuat pengesahan,” katanya dalam kenyataan hari ini.

Beliau berkata anggota APM berkenaan kemudian membuat laporan di Balai Polis Merlimau kira-kira 10.30 pagi sebelum sepasukan anggota Unit Pemusnah Bom Ibu Pejabat Polis Kontijen (IPK) Melaka ke lokasi penemuan pada 11.45 pagi.
