KUCHING (March 13): Yang di-Pertua Negeri Tun Pehin Sri Dr Wan Junaidi Tuanku Jaafar and his wife Toh Puan Datuk Patinggi Fauziah Mohd Sanusi attended the Sarawak Contingent Iftar event hosted by the Royal Malaysia Police (PDRM) at Masjid Al-Mujahiddin, Tabuan Jaya Police Housing Complex her, on Wednesday.
Their arrival was warmly welcomed by Sarawak Police commissioner Dato Mancha Ata, deputy commissioner SAC Saifullizan Ishak, Crime Prevention and Community Safety Department head SAC Wong Ing Fung, Management Department head SAC Rizal Abd Rahman Sidek, and Integrity and Standards Compliance Department head ACP Roselina Daud.
Also present were the Eastern Field Army commander Lieutenant General Dato Mohd Sofi Md Lepi, along with more than 200 officers and personnel of the Sarawak Police Contingent.
The event commenced with a Quran recitation by Nordin Putit, the champion of the 2024 Kuching District Quran Recitation Competition, which added to the spiritual ambience of the gathering.
The guests then enjoyed a humble yet meaningful iftar (breaking of fast) meal together, followed by Maghrib prayers in congregation and the main feast.
In his address, Wan Junaidi expressed gratitude to PDRM for organising the event, noting that it not only strengthens camaraderie among security forces but also fosters unity and togetherness during the holy month of Ramadan.
He hoped that such tradition will continue to be maintained as a means to honour the dedication and sacrifices of the country’s security forces in maintaining peace and public well-being.
