MIRI (Feb 19): Corporate bodies should play their part in helping the less fortunate, especially during festive seasons, said Sarawak Transport Minister Dato Sri Lee Kim Shin.
“Such charitable efforts will provide the much-needed support, love, and care for these vulnerable groups,” he said when officiating at Pullman Miri Waterfront’s ‘Selera Riang Ria Ramadan’ buffet with orphans from the Hamidah Yakup Welfare Complex on Monday.
The Senadin assemblyman commended the hotel’s management for its corporate social responsibility (CSR) initiatives and expressed hope that more private sector players would step forward to support such meaningful causes.
At the event, children from the welfare complex were treated to a Ramadan buffet dinner alongside other guests and dignitaries.
Pullman Miri Waterfront general manager Alan Tham said the initiative reflected the establishment’s commitment to fostering unity, sharing blessings, and embracing the spirit of community.
“Through our offerings that we have curated for guests and customers, we strive to create a warm and inviting space where you can truly enjoy the taste of Malaysia’s rich culinary heritage throughout this ‘iftar’ promotion,” he said.
