KUCHING (Feb 17): Former senator Jaziri Alkaf Abdillah Suffian has been retained to lead Parti Pribumi Bersatu Malaysia (Bersatu) Sarawak for another term.

According to a statement from Bersatu Sarawak, the appointments were made by Bersatu president Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin.
It also said a meeting was held last Saturday chaired by Jaziri to appoint members of Bersatu Sarawak leadership body for the term 2024 – 2027 in accordance with the party constitution.
Siti Sara Udin and Rashidin Berawi were respectively appointed as secretary and treasurer respectively.

Saratok MP Datuk Ali Biju, who is Bersatu’s sole elected representative in Sarawak, was appointed as one of Bersatu Sarawak’s leadership council members.
The other members appointed were Dr Ambrose Labang Jamb, Dr Sulaiman Sahari and Rabi Impen.
The other two posts as leadership body members will be automatically filled by Armada (Youth) and Srikandi (Women) who will be finalised soon.
Alexander, who released this lineup in a statement today, said the meeting also discussed the latest national political developments.
“(Also discussed are) the efforts to focus on service politics among division and branch level leaders, which should be implemented more aggressively especially involving the rural areas of Sarawak,” he added.
He said Bersatu Sarawak fully supports the efforts to make the party as leading party in the 21st century, as expressed by Muhyiddin in his policy and adjournment speech at the 7th Bersatu Annual General Meeting at the end of last year.
