KPDN said the registration will be conducted entirely online via the MySubsidi portal.
KUCHING (May 2): The Ministry of Domestic Trade and Cost of Living (KPDN) has announced that applications for the Subsidised Diesel Control System (SKDS) for land freight vehicles in Sarawak, Sabah and Labuan will officially open on May 4.
In a statement, KPDN said registration will be conducted entirely online via the MySubsidi portal at https://mysubsidi.kpdn.gov.my.
Specific requirements have been outlined for eligible companies and entities.
These include possessing a valid and active commercial vehicle licence (LKM), being registered with the Commercial Vehicle Licensing Board (LPKP) of Sarawak or Sabah, and being registered with the Companies Commission of Malaysia (SSM), local authorities, or the Cooperative Commission of Malaysia (SKM).
Additionally, vehicles must fall under one of the 23 land freight vehicle categories approved under the SKDS system.
These include the company category for commercial vehicles registered under SSM; the cooperative or local authority category for vehicles registered under SKM or local authorities (PBT); and the sole proprietorship category for commercial vehicles registered under an individual’s MyKad number and with LPKP Sabah or Sarawak.
“To facilitate a smooth process, companies are advised to verify their eligibility and ensure they register under the correct category, which includes classifications for companies, cooperatives/local authorities, and sole proprietorships.
The subsidised diesel purchase will be implemented using a fleet card system, where approved companies must submit a fleet card application to their chosen oil company, accompanied by an approval letter and a vehicle list printed from the SKDS system.
Businesses may select up to three oil companies—including Petronas (https://www.mymesra.com.my/for-business/smartpay) , Shell (https://www.shell.com.my/business-customers/shell-fuel-car/apply-for-shell-fuel-card.html) , and Petron (https://www.petronfleetcard.com.my/) for their fleet card applications.
Applicants may also call the hotlines for Petronas (1-300-88-8288), Shell (1-300-22-8181) or Petron (1-800-88-8298).
Processing and delivery of the fleet cards are estimated to take between two to three weeks.
KPDN also reminded applicants that the validity period of the SKDS approval letter is tied directly to the validity of their LKM or vehicle road tax.
“To ensure continuous eligibility for the subsidy, companies must update their LKM or road tax before the 28th of each month, with the expiry date extending into the following month.”
Any inquiries regarding SKDS can be directed to the available call centers (9am-5pm):
