KUCHING (May 2): Police are hunting for a suspect believed to have hit a cyclist near BDC in Jalan Stutong here early on Friday morning.
Kuching district police chief ACP Alexson Naga Chabu said the incident occurred at about 5.43am, when the victim was struck from behind by an unidentified vehicle while cycling.
“The victim was pronounced dead at 6.30am by paramedics,” he said in a statement.
The case is being investigated under Section 41(1) of the Road Transport Act 1987 for reckless driving.
Those with information on the incident are urged to contact the traffic investigating officer, Insp Russel Stetson Junner, at 013-8578601 or 082-259900, or to approach the nearest police station.
He also advised road users to abide by traffic laws and regulations to avoid being involved in accidents.
