MIRI (Aug 16): Residents of Kampung Muhibbah in Kuala Baram now have safer and more convenient access following the completion of a road paving project within a month.
The completed project was recently handed over, with a representative from the Miri Parliamentary Service Centre, representing Deputy Minister of Tourism, Arts and Culture and Miri MP Malaysia Chiew Choon Man, witnessing the verification of the completed works.
Representatives from the Sarawak State Federal Development Office, Prime Minister’s Department and the project contractor were also present.
In a statement, Chiew said the project was aimed at providing residents with safer, more comfortable and better-quality road facilities.
“Good road facilities not only improve the safety of road users, but also facilitate daily activities and the economic activities of the community,” he said.
Chiew thanked the Sarawak State Federal Development Office, ICU JPM, the contractor and other parties involved in the project.
He said development needs and improvements to public facilities in the Miri parliamentary constituency would continue to be given attention, particularly projects that directly benefit local communities.
“Efforts to improve and upgrade basic facilities will continue to receive attention from time to time to ensure that the people enjoy a safer, more comfortable and conducive environment,” he said.
